Randi Malkin Steinberger’s photographs at The Fowler Museum at UCLA
The first exhibition to explore the body of work created by Alighiero Boetti in collaboration with Afghan embroiders, will open in February at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. Order and Disorder: Alighiero Boetti by Afghan Women will combine approximately 30 works by Boetti with photographs by Randi Malkin Steinberger showing production in Peshawar and the outlying refugee camp, as well as examples of the traditional styles of embroidery that initially inspired Boetti to make this work when he encountered the embroidery style on the streets of Kabul.
